Micro-credit Scheme
From 2002 when the micro-credit scheme was introduced about 8 million Naira ($80,000) were disbursed among the olds & the youth (male & female) to start or improve on a sustainable business with zero interest spread over a period of time.

This fund has since been used as a revolving fund, but little impact has it made because of the extent of the much help these poor neighbors require.

One major drawback is that all funding for these projects are funded by a single individual who is simply a civil servant trying to make a positive impact in the life of the needy from his salary.

As a result, this website is created in order to expand the activities & funding of these projects in order to benefit the needys. We solicit for the help of fellow individuals, corporate organizations & other donor agencies to join in to help those in need.

Educational support
Tudun Yola is a primary school built by the state government but fully supported by the meef foundation by providing the pupils with free school uniforms, books & other required writing materials.

The meef foundation would latter like to fence the entire school and provide an entrance gate so that the children will be able to focus to their teachers while the community buzzing activities will not distract them.

So far about 1,000 school uniforms, books & other required writing materials were provided. And the meef foundation has given a standing order to replace any bad uniform for the pupils and that no parent should fail to send his child to school just because of lack of the registration fees and or school uniform and books. This has drastically made a positive impact in the number of children coming to school.

Career guidance, counseling and material support to the high school youth from poor families is in progress. However the meef foundation would like to employ a full time staff to be providing such a service since there is lack of adequate progress in this aspect.

Sustainable Agricultural Development
This was created last year after some farmers were found to come and collect loan from the micro-credit scheme in order for them to buy seeds, fertilizers etc.

The micro credit scheme could be used but we would like to have the ability to properly advise & support the farmer with enough fund if we know that he or she intends to use the fund on agricultural project.

Last year, the meef foundation distributed about 250 to 300 bags of fertilizers and lend (interest free) =N=300,000 ($3,000) to some farmers which we intend to use as a revolving agricultural development fund.

Environmental Protection
Drainages built namely:
• Tsalibawa area (about 230m long)
• Malam Jatau area (about 150m long)
• Gangaren mai shayi area (50m long)

The meef Sokoto foundation has just completed the free distribution of about 2,000 bundles of clothing material to women of: Tsalibawa, Rumbukawa, Tudun-Yola & Kofar-Marke area, to help alleviate poverty as a result of this current economic melt down which is mostly affecting them.

These clothing materials popularly known as ‘’Atamfa’’ were distributed to those who mostly need them and more efforts is under way to provide additional donations like insecticide-treated mosquito nets.

Donor agencies are welcome to send in their contributions towards malaria eradication. The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued new worldwide guidance for the use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets which help to protect people from malaria.

WHO recommends that insecticidal nets be long-lasting, distributed either free or highly subsidized and the meefsokoto foundation is working to comply with this recommendation.
